Jesus proclaims the coming of the Kingdom of God, calls us to conversion, and forgives the sins of all who draw near to Him in humble trust. Repentance and Trust in God are the dual themes of this mystery.
- After John's arrest, Jesus appeared in Galilee proclaiming the good news of God, saying
"This is the time of fulfillment! The reign of God is at hand! Reform your lives and believe
in the gospel!" (Mark 1:1415)
- Jesus toured all of Galilee. He taught in their synagogues, proclaimed the good news of the
kingdom, and cured the people of every disease and illness. (Matthew 4:23)
- And they came, bringing to Jesus a paralytic carried by four men. And when Jesus saw
their faith he said to the paralytic, "My son, your sins are forgiven." (Mark 2: 35)
- "But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins... I
say to you rise, take up your pallet, and go home." (Mark 2:1011)
- A woman known in the town to be a sinner learned that Jesus was dining in the Pharisee's home. She brought in a vase of perfumed
oil and stood behind him at his feet, weeping so that her tears fell upon his feet. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissing
them and perfuming them with the oil. (Luke 7:3738)
- "I tell you, that is why her many sins are forgiven because of her great love." (Luke 7:47)
- "If you seek perfection, go, sell your possessions, and give to the poor. You will then have treasure in heaven."
(Matthew 19:21)
- "Whoever does not accept the reign of God like a little child shall not take part in it." (Mark 10:15)
- "If you live according to my teaching, you are
truly my disciples; then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:3132)
- "This is my commandment: love one another as I have loved you." (John 15:12)
